[edit]

I would like to request a review of an addition regarding recent advancements in bio-inspired brain implants, specifically soft bioelectronics, biohybrid neural interfaces, and living electrodes. While our Nature Communications paper is highly relevant to this topic, I have also included additional peer-reviewed sources (e.g., Rochford et al., Boulingre et al.) to ensure a balanced and comprehensive representation of the field.

I understand that self-citation must be used carefully, and I fully welcome independent editors to assess whether these sources meaningfully improve the article.

Suggested Addition: "Recent advancements in bio-inspired electronics have led to the development of soft, biohybrid, and living neural interfaces, designed to enhance long-term biocompatibility and signal stability in BCIs by closely mimicking the mechanical and biochemical properties of neural tissue."

Additionally, I had a schematic illustration that might be useful for readers unfamiliar with the field to better visualize these emerging technologies. If independent editors feel that this would enhance the article, I’d be happy to include (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bio-inspired_electronics.jpg).
